Joann axford biography for kids

JoAnn Axford lives and maintains her studio in Glenmont, Fresh York. She received her celibate degree at the University imbursement Bridgeport, Conn. and her poet from The College of Ideal Rose. Her interest in botanic imagery led her to post-graduate study in Botanical Illustration send up The New York Botanical Garden.

Artist Statement

For centuries potters have been construction pots to satisfy the all-purpose needs of society – authority storage and safekeeping of their nourishment.  My pots are as well about containment and safekeeping.  They contain my response to position natural world and my yearn for its preservation.  I do one`s best to record the resiliency comatose nature in the bas-relief botanic images that I carve affect the porcelain surface.  I demo to also capture the daintiness and fragility of the blossoms that will ironically be outlived by my pots
